According to various sources, a new Nintendo DSi model will be coming to Japan later this year boasting larger screens (4″ vs. 3.25″). The goal is to better compete against the iPhone and the PSP as well as to market to an older demographic (with bad eyesight).
Quite separately, there are rumors that Nintendo is planning a DSi Speak channel (thanks to a leak on the customer support page of the official website). Similar to the Wii Speak channel, users may be able to communicate with friends using the device’s microphone. VOIP on DSi? Interesting if true.
