Cold Mornings In London

Here’s the view outside my window. Pretty, isn’t it?

It snows overnight here in London, but the locals thankfully salt all the roads and sidewalks. So by the time I head down to the London Underground, the paths are a muddy slosh mess. There’s only 6 hours of sunlight every day, so the roads pretty much stay wet for the rest of the day.

I’m really enjoying my time here in London. The people are friendly and very environmentally conscious and there are no sass-talking service workers here. On the other hand, I keep accidentally bumping people on the sidewalk because everyone travels on the left side of the road. My inclination is to move to my right when I should be moving to the left. Bump.

My other observation about this city is that everyone I’ve seen so far has been incredibly thin. I guess Jay Leno has a point about Americans being too fat. Also, the food here is much more expensive and portions smaller.
