Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, is fast approaching. My friends in Gurgaon mailed me this awesome box of something. Whatever it is, I love it. A colleague told me they’re actually ornate coasters, but I’m not so sure. In any case, I don’t want to do anything that could possibly damage them and that includes putting bowls or cups on top. I still have packs of AOL trial CDs for that.
According to the card, the painting is a classic example of Rajput art that evolved in the courts of Rajasthan in the 18th century. So I think I’ll just leave them on my desk to look at. Thanks Paromita and Gayatri!
