I’ve been super busy these past few days. But I did get to catch President Obama’s inaugural speech this morning before I rushed out to work. I’m looking forward to four years of competent, fact-based leadership. If you didn’t catch the speech, CNN has a video and transcript here.
There were a lot of little quotes interlaced throughout the speech that will look good chiseled in stone someday. It’ll be up to the 24 hour news media to sort that out. But here’s my choice for future text book material:
“With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back, nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.”
I understand America won’t be fixed overnight, but it certainly is an exciting time to be alive. Congratulations to our new president. May you represent our country well, repair the burnt bridges of the last decade, and lead our progress as a nation to exciting new heights.
Don’t forget to celebrate the election with your very own badass Obama action figure.
